Break Time!

When I set out on the Project Convert 2 Cloth project at the start of the summer, I had decided I wasn't going to be going to the BlogHer conference in New York City.

Well, like all things in life plans change, and I was able to secure an opportunity to go, so my being a little behind for PC2C turned into me being a lot of behind.

It happens. Right?

So what I am going to do is push last week's giveaway, and this week's giveaway back, and next week once I am back from the conference, I will get back in the saddle.

WAHM Diaper Giveaway

This week I have a lot of different WAHM (Work-at-Home-Mom) diaper makers to include in posts. A while back I had asked my readers and a lot of different cloth diapering moms to email me their favorite WAHM diaper makers.

Out of all the different submissions collected, two different diaper makers submitted a diaper each for a giveaway!

Unlike the other giveaways thus far, there will be two winners for this giveaway. One will win a diaper. This mainly because I would love for more and more people to be winners rather than a select few winning a ton of stuff.

Fair right?

Guest Post: Pre-Folds by Amanda from The Eco Friendly Family!

This is a guest post submitted by Amanda Hearn of The Eco-Friendly Family

While diapers have come a long way and the options couldn't be easier to use, one tried and true diaper is sometimes overlooked - the prefold.

Many families use and love these diapers, but their versatility, affordability and dependability are qualities that anyone can love!

What's a prefold?
A prefold diaper is most commonly made from cotton, but can also be found in bamboo and hemp varieties. They are often a combination of 4 layers of fabric overlapping at the center to create a thicker 8 layer pad that is idea for the "wet zone".

Types of Cloth Diapers

When it comes to looking into cloth diapering it can become extremely overwhelming. I know the first time I took the task on, I failed miserably and ended up selling the hand full of diapers I bought and going back to disposable till my middle son was about 18 months old.

There are four main types of diapers. Pre-folds, Pockets, All-in-Ones/All-in-Twos, and fitted diapers. If you want to get fancy you can branch off into hybrid diapers like g-diapers, but I am not going to focus on those types today. Just the basics.

Diaper Sprayers are Where Its At! - Knickernappies Diaper Sprayer Giveaway

Post originally from re-posted with permission for Giveaway!

I have lived without a diaper sprayer for 18 months which in cloth diapering terms is a freaking eternity… With Addison getting older and eating a diet with far more solid foods, and my toddler still burdening me with gross diapers I dreaded cleaning… I knew it was time to invest in one.

I put in an order on Kelly’s Closet last week for the spayer and of course a couple odds and ends I needed — Some Rockin’ Green, a bigger wet bag – all that fun stuff. The best part was the kick ass coupon code: CLOVER which scored me a free FuzziBunz Elite as my mystery one size diaper for spending $69+!
It was a win all around!

My sprayer came on Friday and come Saturday I had it all hooked up and ready to use. I sat around all morning hoping for someone to crap their pants so I had a chance to really use it. I had to laugh because everyone – including myself – dreads a crappy diaper. Let’s be real here… no one wants to change a poopy diaper. Except me apparently!

FuzziBunz Giveaway

It is a new week, and of course a new giveaway here for Project Convert 2 Cloth! I do realize I am a little behind on everything else but the giveaways because I had a lot of last minute guest blog entries or people who committed to writing guest blogs simply didn't follow through.

I am scrambling to get the information wrapped up so I can get it rolling here on the blog. I hope to have everything finished after the holiday this week.  Summer vacation has been proving to be a little more difficult than summers of years before.

This week's sponsor is FuzziBunz! I have been working with them since I was pregnant with Addison in early 2011. I had been limited in my cloth diapering experience, and they were the second cloth diaper I tried out. I am certainly loyal to the brand itself as well.

When Addison was a tiny little baby, two full pounds smaller than either of our boys were because of IUGR, the perfect size diapers, which FuzziBunz committed (1) for this giveaway became some of the only cloth diapers I could use on her.
